Letters to Manuel Alvarez, 1840-1841.

Facsimiles of three letters from J.H. Lyman to Manuel Alvarez. The first letter tells of the "infamous conduct" of the "scoundrel of the worst grade" Mr. Lee; the second letter further recounts Lyman's dealings with Lee, who he claims robbed him and then tried to prove fraud against him; and in the final letter Lyman bids farewell to Alvarez as he is going away for "many months."
